This is a third release by the artist named Simon Heath. The definition of the title of the release, Kapnobatai, means Those Who Walk In Smoke, and the music is dark ambient. This album is very riveting and seductive, and is lavishly illustrated throughout with scary and mystical sound effects. You will hear: breathing, someone walking in gravel, rain, thunder, computer bleeps and someone crying and people speaking and storytelling in Japanese. All the sounds are so vivid, you feel like you’re there. It is not obvious what is going on in the story. Perhaps the listeners can draw their own conslusions as to what it might be. But it’s an excellent album which will definitely grab and hold your attention.
