Deathprod – “Imaginary Songs From Tristan Da Cunha” – [Rune Grammofon]
cinder 6/15/2012 A Library, CD
Sparse, minimal and almost primal sounds from Deathprod (Helge Sten, Norwegian). A 1996 recording, re-released this past year. The main instruments he’s used are violin, glass and voice – but you couldn’t tell. The first 4 tracks are short, 2 minutes of experimental sounds. From clanking, to dragging, to tweaking. The final is a nice 30 minute clear sky drone, a warm swaying desert feel with whimsical ghosts singing no words. Meditative.
