Simple and true pop plus pastiches. I really
like some of the little interludes here,
farfisa, mellotron and tape effects. But
the songs themselves are as crystalline
as anything ever by the Clean or the Bats
Indeed Robert’s Clean pal, David Kilgour
lends his talents and his home to this
recording. I just think New Zealanders
capture (better than most) the powerful
human capacity to be happy and sad at the
