Remedial Math Rock, synth-style, out of Portland OR. Craziness everywhere you look: the band’s palindromic name, 2 out of the 3 guys are named Charles, which sort of creates another palindrome if the guy who’s not named Charles stands in the middle, there are 12 tracks listed but I couldn’t find more than 10, and on and on? The song structures are puzzling, rules go right out the window. Even so, the music is way catchy, and this trio rocks like nobody’s business with power keyboards, a nice chunky guitar on a few tracks, and solid drumming throughout. I like the unhinged singer and the deranged lyrics, although I do have a bit of an issue with people who pronounce jewelry as joo-la-ree. Other than that, full speed ahead! I think these guys sound like a punk rock version of Sparks. Surrender to this wonderfully weird stuff.
