Les Rideaux Clandestins – “Theatre Clandestins” – [Kilk]

Their name means “underground curtains,” and according to the Internet they are a Japanese underground team. The lyrics are French (listed in the liner notes in both French and Japanese, but not translated). The music is quirky electronica, full of surprising twists. Kren (from Japan) does the guitar, synth, and field recordings; Ufo (from France) does the singing, piano, and percussion. There are lovely sound of water flowing (6), and “Golden Shoe on a River” (8) is just that–golden. Definitely a pleasure to drive to.
