This CD has seven as its magic number, meaning that the tracks average 7 minutes on the whole. Listening to this is a mesmerizing experience, and I finally understand the meaning of Belladonna’s show title, that there are beats that can permeate and define music, yet which are impossible to dance to–they are pulses, pace-setters, yes–but their very nature defies any kind of corresponding rhythmic movement any body (at least human) could keep up with. Prepare to lose yourself in the beats of this magic.
