High On Fire – “De Vermis Mysteriis” – [Www.eonemusic.com]

humana   4/9/2012   A Library, CD

KFJC loves it some High on Fire, and fans of this Oakland metal trio will no doubt feel the same way about this release. Meaning “Mysteries of the Worm,” and perhaps taking its inspiration from the fictional grimoire that Robert Bloch invented with the help of H. P. Lovecraft, this CD has its own special form of poetry (the words are included in the liner notes) rendered by intense vocalizations and guitar and drumwork. 5 is a welcome instrumental respite for the likes of a rookie like me, but this is sure to please many.
