This 2-CD set is a treat for Stott fans. Passed Me By is a murky cauldron of sounds that bubble and burble, whir and blur from another world. The intermittent beats punctuate rainfall sounds, while vocal samples float in at opportune times to keep you in flux between feeling like you’re going mad or simply bobbing around in prettiness. We Stay Together starts off great with 1, which sounds like the ebb and flow of a tide (or the rinse cycle in a carwash). The rest is not as impressive to me as CD2, although it’s fine.
