Men, The – “Leave Home” – [Sacred Bones Records]
humana 7/16/2011 12-inch, A Library
Ya gotta love The Men, a four-man band from New York who deliver high-energy doses of Kraut punk with metal overtones (especially on A4) on this quasi-debut release. Guitars and bass that won’t quit, drums, and vocals all play a part in the onslaught that this record is. Every song has something good about it, but “Shittin’ With the Shah” (B3) stands out for me, and not just because of its name.
