Gosta Berlings Saga – “Glue Works” – [Cuneiform Records]
Cousin Mary 7/5/2011 A Library, CD
This Swedish quartet (bass, Moog, guitar, Fender Rhodes, Mellotron, percussion) is joined by a few others to produce curious and creative rock music. More than a cut above most “prog rock” due to original musical mood changes, a variety of sounds and very good sound quality. Only negative to me was frequent overuse of repetition.
Fun facts: Gosta Berlings Saga is a neo-romantic Swedish novel published in 1891 by Nobel Laureate Selma Lagerlof. An “icosahedron” is a geometric solid with 20 faces.
