Album Review

Chenaux, Eric – “Sloppy Ground” – [Constellation]

humana   6/1/2011   12-inch, A Library

Singer/songwriter/guitarist Chenaux creates a mellow, folksy mood with most of the songs on this album. Sometimes there is more intensity, such as when he takes off on guitar tangents (such as on “Love Don’t Change”), but there is a feeling of what I’d call Americana if he weren’t from Canada on “Boon Harp” and “Old Peculiar.” His vocals add to the overall feeling of well-being and pleasantness.
