Flashback to KFJC’s 50th Anniversary

Cynthia Lombard   10/17/2022

As KFJC approaches our 63rd anniversary on October 20, 2022, we are flashing back to some of our milestone birthdays. The 50th anniversary was a big one and we celebrated in grand style with numerous events, both on and off the air. Thanks to the Internet Archive’s WayBack machine, we can take a peek back at the KFJC 50th Anniversary page. From there, you can take a listen to Station Supervisor Doc Pelzel’s interview with KFJC founder Bob Ballou.

During this year’s recognition of KFJC’s anniversary, we will also be airing some programming from 2009, including Cousin Mary’s “Jazz Collective” from October 20, 2009, which highlighted jazz music either recorded in or released in 1959, the year of KFJC’s birth. Tune in on Thursday, October 20, 2022 from 6am to 10am to hear a rebroadcast of that show.
