Heritage Orchestra Feat. DJ Yoda – “G. Prokofiev Concerto For Turntables and Orchestra” – [Nonclassical Recordings]
Composer Gabriel Prokofiev details what ???scratching??? is in the must-read liner notes, explaining how DJs such as DJ Yoda can magically transform a turntable into a musical instrument worthy of being the centerpiece of a concerto. The other instruments of the London-based Heritage Orchestra round out the concerto, and tracks 6 -16 are remixes by various artists. The entire CD is characterized by the experimental nature and exploration that are part and parcel of any release associated with the Heritage Orchestra.
