Licht, Alan/Connors, Loren – “Into The Night Sky” – [Family Vineyard]
This is their 6th album together, and first since 2003. Both were recorded live, 10 years apart. Connors, known also as Loren MazzaCane Connors, is mostly known as an improviser and composer. Alan Licht has worked with many others, mostly experimental, free jazz and electronic artists. Both tracks are 24 minutes in length, and are serious delicate masterpieces. Picked at guitar and drifting resonance. Has a very desert sahara feel to them. The whole thing is super relaxing and mellow, I had listened to the whole thing without realizing it! Drifty and ethereal.
