Goebbels, Heiner – “Italian Concerto, The” – [Angelica]
Cousin Mary 9/8/2009 A Library, CD
Heiner Goebbels (born 1952) is a German composer who is known for mixing musical styles. On this album of his compositions, he also plays piano and percussion.
The 4 tracks of live performances were recorded in three different Italian cities in 2008. They feature a variety of instruments (see liner notes), various styles of vocals, brass that sounds like trumpeting elephants, and a lovely piano quote of J.S. Bach???s ???Italian Concerto???.
Genre definition is definitely not the point, but probably contemporary classical. Highest recommendation!
