Sick Llama/Fossils [coll] – [None]
cinder 2/4/2009 12-inch, A Library
Sick Llama is Heath Moerland, experimental noise artist and operator of the label Fag Tapes out of Michigan. Fossils is David Payne, Scott Johnson & Jeremy Buchan from Ontario.
Sick Llamas tracks are the itch in the middle of your back. The first one being high pitched and loud, buzzing like a pissed mosquito. The second is more dense and darker. Bumbling and rumbling electronics. Like a wicked stomach growl.
Fossils gets a little more chaotic. Banging, clanging, insanity. Low recording, feels like it’s through an old radio in the other room. I hear strings and things. It’s like a litter of kittens have gone mad in a music store, destroying the strings, kneading the strings, pouncing the strings – all while having devlish grins on their cute little faces. The second Fossils track is like the whole thing has gone underwater. Slow sliding across the strings, like nails on a chalkboard. Muffled and aquafied.
