Nadja – “Skin Turns to Glass” – [End, The]
From Toronto, Nadja is the duo of Aidan Baker and Leah Buckareff. It’s doomy, loud, drone guitared and punishing. Four tracks (not three) all epic. The songs are layered and thick. Slow pounding almost shoegaze inspired sludge. Guitars, drums, even some keys. The second track tosses in some vocal effects, like a demon in the clouds. All heavy.
The final track is a little different…a long, almost 30 minute track of flying ambient space drones. Very nice and smooth til about 7 mins left, where it builds up to a crushing end.

I've heard a couple tracks of this record on KFJC, and I must say, every time I stopped and had to "find out what the hell this is!" Sounds amazing and I will go out and get it. Another friend of mine has also been checking them out to. Hope they tour around here soon!
