stripped down minimal dub techno from German multi-instrumentalist producer conducting his trio with Vladislav Delay and Max Loderbauer. strangely, i saw this compared to fusion-era Miles Davis which would be perplexing if it weren’t for the first track: distant alleyway trumpet interjecting the sinister urban rhythms, lurking on a cryptic trip; carrying over to the smoky downtempo haze on the aptly named Dark. Club is also fitting with a dynamic array of tribal beats and shuffles fed by Delay’s home-built percussion array; a more dynamic track alondside the closing Yangissa that slowly subtracts until all that’s left is a static pulse. a dystopian dance vision that could fit nicely with electronica, drone and jazz alike.
