Dilloway, Aaron / Hive Mind – “Forgotten Thirst ” – [Hanson]

Thurston Hunger   1/12/2007   12-inch, A Library

Perhaps a sound recording from a home-built bathysphere – pushing down
into some cavernous crevice in the ocean floor. Heavy hum of the motor,
and all that pressure, looking for one of the last remaining fish in
the over-farmed seven seas. Aaron Dilloway repossesses the Hive Mind and
distills the futility of industry (or is it the industry of futility)
on this single sided slab o’ deep azurean blue. At some point on the
journey, the realization sinks in that there’s not enough oxygen to
return to the surface. Static matches are lit to check the gauges.
Steady still the downward course. Engine room tones. Periscope dreams
of the delusory sky…
Facts, you want facts…

Now this is elevator music! Listening to this almost 15 minute track is one long ascension in the chocolate factory.
