Extremely enjoyable work that often nods to traditional jazz (New Orleans) from this Bay Area trio. Filled with fine playing and tasty nuggets such as drum solos, guest sousaphone/trombone/tenor sax artists, and a mysterious sounding THAT & THE OTHER (track 6) that features beautifully integrated didgeridoo. Track 5 EPITOME slyly references Thelonious Monk’s Epistrophy.
