Ocher, Mary – “Eden” – [Hairy Spider Legs]

Born in Moscow, raised in Tel Aviv, and transplanted to Berlin, Ocher is a singer-songwriter whose voice ranges from lovely to grating and back again. Cello, piano, autoharp, guitar, percussion, and earthy lyrics (printed on the insert) characterize this release that is at times peppy and passionate, and other times mellow and cinematic (as in the final tracks). Definitely interesting and definitely KFJC fodder.
