No Neck Blues Band – “Ever Borneo ” – [Seres]

Max Level   6/19/2006   12-inch, A Library

No-wave free-jazz audio tribalism, circa 2003, from this long-running musical organism. NNBB (aka NNCK for some reason) are a New York institution- a loose, jamming collective with somewhere around 6 or maybe 7 or 8 unidentified members. They use “normal” instruments such as guitars, keyboards, horns, percussion, and voices, and really that’s about it as far as I can tell. But “normal” they’re not; music and not-music happily co-exist in their ecstatic world of sound. As long as at least one guy is playing something that at least one other guy can pound / noodle / drone along with, then it seems as though pretty much anything goes. May the madness continue forever. Note: this LP included a bonus 7″ by a band called Hog’s Hole, a No Neck side project.
