Soulful cello, cool percussion, expressive vocals, lovely piano that all sound like a cross between classical and jazz–that is what this trio creates on this absolutely pristine analog release. Recorded to analog two-track straight from a performance that was not digitally altered in any way, this Amsterdam-based group (one of whom relocated from Senegal) truly live in the moment of the creation of their music, knowing that it won’t be altered. The effect is pleasant and simple.
