Maclaurin, Angus – “Glass Music ” – [Bubble Core Records]
Thurston Hunger 5/29/2006 A Library, CD
Transparent ghost drones, built from glass.
Impurities welcomed, intial track sounds
like wind-chime gamelan…track two winds
up with reversed voices in the ether…
much hovering throughout…an alluring
eeriness…like awaking in bed next to the
most beautiful corpse in the world. That
vibe is accentuated on track six by kalimba
(thumb piano) and theremin. Icicle cyles!
Bent ambient, Frosty the Eno-man! One man,
with many tracks of many glasses…and yes
they are pre-chilled. -Thurston Hunger
