Album Review
Craig, Carl (as Psyche\BFC) – “Elements 1989-1990” – [Planet E Communications]
incognito 8/13/2013 A Library, CD
Carl Craig’s 1989-1990 work under the Psyche and BFC psedonyms has been re-released by Planet E records, and it still holds it’s worth as a very important record. This collection of tracks raised the bar for an entire generation of producers when it first came out, and is still relevant today. Some of his earliest stuff is here, including “Andromeda,” “Neurotic Behavior” and “It’s a Shame.” Straddling the line between cerebral and club music, this is Detroit Techno from it’s heyday. This is an excellent album, and an important part of electronic music history.
