The half-red, half-blue vinyl of this release symbolizes how the sounds on this album were “hard panned” between left and right channels, resulting in the “Double Mono” title of the compilation. Starting out with a peppy track with vocals, the songs proceed into instrumentals until the last track, which has blurry vocalizations along with drones. Phillip Edward Niemeyer curated an art and design show for anaglyph 3-D glasses, and this album was compiled to accompany this show. There are electronics, some beats, and some drones.
