Album Review
Ogres, The – “Acrid and Misanthropic Sounds Of, The” – [Hillsdale]
humana 6/20/2013 12-inch, A Library
The cover notes and album title lead you to believe that this is a band of highly disagreeable men who will never gather again to record music together. You would never know this from the music, which is vintage rock and roll, complete with organ, guitar, drums, bass (and a sax, although I didn’t quite hear it). Fast-paced, tongue-in-cheek lyrics (see B2), not-too-serious fun, the music sounds the way these guys look in their leopard-skin vests. I love it, Zero Gravity will love it, and probably so will a lot of others. If I’m wrong, sue me.
