ReDeMeR – “Prancing and Collapsing Through The Wilterness” – [Your Shit Stinks]

Cookie monster vox like metal du jour but they come across
as cute as the real cookie monster? Guitar that is both
brutal and playful? Drums that connote both Weasel Walter
and Animal from the Muppets. Hell, they even have a song
called “Animal.” The sense of levity in the lyrics (when
you can understand them) and in some of the goofiness of
the sundry modified vox make this release a total blast.
Albeit a brief blast, 22 minutes in total. A lot of songs,
like “Happy Happy” still manage to have time to sort of
fall apart creatively for a few bars. Stop and start, twitch
and crawl, smile and panic. I first came across these
geniuses on the oft amazing Chic-a-Go-Go. Ah here’s the link

Stop reading this stupid review, and watch that and
fall in love with this project (and help me find a way
to have them play at the next KFJC Listener Party). In my
ideal world, arena tour, action figures and a Saturday
morning cartoon show all would be properly Redeme’d!
