Taj Mahal Travellers – “Live At Moderna Museet In Stockholm – 1st & 9th July 1971” – [Klimt]
humana 12/3/2012 12-inch, A Library
Drones have a field day on this double-LP unofficial release of a concert performed in a geodesic dome a 1971 Stockholm exhibit. Improvised and sounding a lot like whale song (especially on Side 3, which is the most distinctive for me), this music is percussive, electronic, and creative. Takehisa Kosugi formed this Japanese ensemble in 1969, and experimentalism was the name of the game for the duration of the band. Each sidelong track clocks in at about 30 minutes.
