From the opening track where Catherine Quesenberry’s beautiful voice overlays atmospherics to the closing one where Mike Netland’s electronic magic takes center stage, this is a captivating release. The duo’s talents complement each other seamlessly, with Quesenberry’s voice as an integral instrument in the prettiness created in Netland’s soundscapes. 3 is my favorite, beginning with flowing water that you can envision as a treasure of rubies being poured out of a pirate’s bag. The beats and electronics go well with the siren-like lyrics and are sure to please many.
