OK, let’s talk about bad audio quality. I like it just as much as the next warrior of the bestial apocalypse, but this is really something. Necrofago were formed in 1987 in Passos, Brazil. They played black death thrash in the style of– you guessed it– Sarcofago. Unlike Belo Horizonte’s undisputed masters of this type of assault, however, these guys couldn’t really play their instruments and disbanded after three demos released 87-88 amid presumably little interest. Enter Nuclear War Now with this 2011 compilation of the band’s entire output, wafting your way on the bloody smoke of the current ‘war metal’ craze. Side one contains the ‘Brutal Mutilation’ demo and a rehearsal tape– the latter (A4-A5) is actually more professional, and I’d recommend that. The titular demo is hilarious with vibrator-on-tabletop guitar tone and drummer ‘Rotting Corpse’ desperately trying to keep a beat, presumably while his decayed arms fall off. B-side is a live show recorded on a walkman or something. Music is not really distinguishable. They do a Kreator cover (B3). B5 features awesome, probably unintentional feedback. As metal it’s a joke but… Black noise fans? This whole thing is cute, I dig it, play to annoy your parents.
