Dreebs, The – “Bait an Orchard” – [Rotted Tooth Recordings]

Brooklyn ghost ghost rock with art blurs from this three piece.
Rattling of rail strings, train station steam bellowed vocals
and sometimes Adam Markiewicz inhales a falsetto verse or two.
He’s a hollow but not fragile singer – heated by dry drums
rolling floor toms, or cooled by constant cymbal splash. Eerie
harmonies at times tracked on, accentuated when the ruckus
relents for a bit (as on “Fucking In A Pool” towards the end).
Jordan Bernstein’s prepared guitar is enhanced, thickened
often and fits nicely with the not-so-recognizable torqued
violin of Markiewicz. Jack Soil scored us this jack hammer of
a release, perfect for dislodging your Rotted Tooth in hopes
of a new one to rot in its stead. A solid label, and this
consistent release is an impressionistic blur of power with
weird angles of grace (when the violin sort of appears as a
violin, as opposed to pizzicato powerhoused, or harrowing
drone blast.
