Knot of Fire “Tempest Over Refuge”“Tempest Over Refuge” CD Peasant Spring Records Noisy/Industrial sounds on the debut album for this project. The label seems to have been created for releasing this album. All tracks are written, performed, and recorded by one Stephen Millard. The album centers on the theme of the collapse of western civilization; from the cover which appear to have the twin towers in the background, to track 3 which contains samples from a speech about a New World Order. All of the tracks feature some droning or humming aspect to them, with some basic motif repeated over and over and over. The album seems to have been made using the same fuzzy static-ish effects setting. This makes many tracks seem the same. To give motion to the songs, the amount of distortion/fuzz is increased or decreased over the same theme. One track will give you a pretty good sense of the album???s sound. Favorite tracks are #???s 2, 3, and 9.
