Bruckmann, Kyle – “On Procedural Grounds” – [New World Records (2)]

San Francisco composer Kyle Bruckmann plays oboe and combines them with other instruments and glitchy humming droning electronics to produce these 4 performances. The “sidemen” are a who’s who of Bay Area outsider musical virtuosos including Rova Saxophone Quartet, Gino Robair, Matt Ingalls, and others. Sometimes piercing and shrill but overall very engaging.
