Janitor – “Receiving a Flower On Mother’s Day” – [Tesco Organisation]

I would love to watch my mother-in-law’s face as she listens to this industrial assault on the senses (especially the harsher 1 and 7). You can hear the voice of Baby Doll on 2, 4, and 6, describing such things as lacerating your mother’s neighbor, drinking from your mother’s womb, and how Jesus came to destroy. There is a fine percussive rhythm (as on the almost-exotic 2) that breaks up the industrial drone feel found on other soundscapes (5 is like a wheezing kind of breathing). This beats flowers any day.
