Vulcanus 68 – “Contours and Colours” – [Gigante Sound]

Bay Area electronics experimenters Jared Blum and Dominic Cramp offer us some low-fi-sounding atmospherics here. 2 has an out-of-tune, wavery piano. The centerpiece is 7, the longest track, which has time to develop from the sound of rushing wind, drum rolls, brush snare, to the plane landing sound at the end. 8 has ocean sounds, while 9 is the most melodic track with sounds like a harpsichord. Almost all the pieces track, leaving you feeling like you are part of a great cosmic picture awash with sound.
