Rudd, Roswell – “Incredible Honk, The” – [Sunnyside Communications]

Roswell Rudd is feeling good at the age of 75! The tracks on this release include music and musicians to represent traditional (Dixieland), Cuban, Cajun, Korean, Chinese and more. If you only associate Rudd’s trombone with free and avant-garde jazz, you are in for a pleasant surprise with lots of variety. I didn’t care for the vocals on track 8 and 9, but your mileage may vary.
