Gilson, Jef – “Best of Jef Gilson, The” – [Jazzman]

This CD samples the best from the lifetime work of French keyboardist Jef Gilson (born 1926). Broad variety of sounds recorded from the 1940′s to the 1960′s include big bands, ensembles of many sizes, and a variety of styles with Gilson on organ or piano. Very accessible, with an original sound. Nice cover of Pharaoh Sanders’ “The Creator Has A Master Plan”.
