Olsen, Angel – “Strange Cacti” – [Bathetic]

On this 2011 LP “Strange Cacti” (a reissue of a cassette release), Chicagoan Angel Olsen lulls us with her sweet, old-fashioned voice. There’s spare guitar and quavering vocals that at times remind of Mia Doi Todd and Paula Frazer. In fact, there’s a teensy tiny hint of country jangle in a few places.
