Woods – “Sun and Shade” – [Woodsist]

If the artwork on the cover doesn’t give it away, the peace symbol on the track insert does: this is one hip psychedelic band. The long instrumental outings (A4 and B1) make you feel like you’ve come upon a drum circle in the very woods after which the band is named. Mellow, upbeat tunes accented by high-pitched vox, acoustic guitar, and percussion are primarily psyche with a hint of hipster pop (A4, A6, B3, B4). Plenty on here to please young and old ears alike.
