Schroeder, Phillip – “Passage Through a Dream” – [Innova/American Composers]

Schroeder teaches theory and composition at Henderson State University in Arkansas. This set of pieces feature a number of traditional instruments (see track listings inside) and a soprano voice on track 5 whose sounds have been processed with digital delay. The mood of these works is understated; the delay leads to repetition which can be soothing or irritating depending on the listener’s mood.
