Goldmann, Stefan – “Grand Hemiola, The” – [Macro Records]

Goldmann is a German Bulgarian DJ, also known as Simitli and Barricade. This 2-LP set has 2 sides of locked grooves and 2 sides with pieces based on a ballet. But all sides use percussion, effects and occasional string (guitar?, prepared piano?). Perhaps he used those locked tracks to make the other tracks?

Rather rhythmic, but not danceable – pleasant sounds that are repetitive but not grating. FYI, “hemiola” refers to the juxtaposition of different rhythms. The locked grooves definitely will give DJs a good groove – give them a try.
