White Fence – “Harness / The Pool” – [After Life]

KFJC has a deep appreciation for the bass-ackwards in life, even here on
Afterlife. So releasing the “hit” single after the album seems to make
sense. Besides, singles are all about the B-sides anyways, right?
Tim Presely’s “White Fence” project has the right amount of slop and
a thrashy halo, to obscure its true peppy pop intentions. “Harness” from
the “…is Growing Faith” full-length, leads a sorta-psych, sorta-Ramones
charge up a hill with 1970′s stinger solo attacking the hindparts of
the song, before then getting flanged to death. “The Pool” while a
Presely composition is evidently a one-man Fence of another color
(maybe purple or gold as the fingernails in the lyrics) as John Webster
Johns plays all the instruments and sings all the pa-la-la-la-labras.
Not sure on the connection between these two gents, do they both shop
at the Afterlife clothing boutique who here have launched their first
record? Congrats to them, perhaps here come the wearable mp3s that
I predicted long ago. More fun than cassettes!!
