    Smith, Wadada Leo Golden Quartet - “Tabligh” - [Cuneiform]

    Recorded live at the 2005 Cal Arts Creative Music Festival, Wadada Leo Smith???s trumpet soars on this gorgeous, dark, intense 4-track album. Fine contributions from keyboardist Vijay Iyer, drummer John Lindberg and bass Shannon Jackson.

    More than occasionally reminiscent of Miles Davis, very fine modern jazz, highly recommended.
