Nillacat compiles Art of Flying cover songs done almost all acoustically.?? Numerous selections stem from the Portland, Oregon indie music scene.?? Art of Flying plays somber experimental folk with noise tinges & psych elements out of Questa, New Mexico these days & features Dave & Anne Costanza along with Larry Yes.?? Larry Yes is on this compilation with Miss Massive Snowflake, Rollerball, Moodring and Danghead & several other newcomers or lesser known artists is perhaps more appropriate.?? Anyways, each takes their own spin on the Art of Flying & their influential sound.?? Most songs are guitar and/or organ based & wistful.?? Some tracks are stripped down wholly acoustic numbers, some tease with crunchier rock moments, some are weird etches of psychedelic beauty.?? Overall, slow paced & country flavored with good harmonies.?? Not all knockouts here but still enough musicianship to be respectable & fly on their own.
