Recorded on two nights in the summer of 1971 in Oslo where their show became the talk of the town. Tight ensemble with Lewis on keyboards including Hammond organ, Bobby Greene on alto sax, Stan Strickland on tenor sax, Jimmy Hopps on percussion and Judd Watkins on vocals. Straddles genres from pure soul to hard bop, spirituals to gospel. Easy to see why they wanted to reissue this, very infectuous feeling of being there when this band and the audience were feeding off and inspiring each other. Roll up the rug in the studio because you’re gonna be dancing.
