Mouthus and Yellow Swans – “Conan Island ” – [Weird Forest Records]

Recorded back on their tour in 2006. Yellow Swans come from Portland and Mouthus are all the way on the other coast, resting in Brooklyn.

Side A has layers of all sorts. It’s like a dark & gloomy industrial pier at night. A foghorn repeats under textures of metallic warehouse sounding electronics. A subtle looping of thumps with computerized crashing beach waves. Even though it’s noisy, it has a rhythme to it – I found myself somehow nodding along in a robotic trance.

Side B is a little more relaxed and ambient. A light soaring tone floats in the background with what sounds like faint singing. Along for the ride is some bubbling electronics, nothing too harsh.
