KFJC Music Reviews
Sam Macklin???s super limited wax slab experiment in dark minimalism.?? Its obvious Sam totally dug his last Pit Stop since only 99 copies exist & Connect_Icut personally sent KFJC this very vinyl promo!?? LA (An Apology) comes via Vancouver, CANADA & shies away from his gradual glitch affinity apparent on ???Moss.????? OK, so he occasionally hitches on faint shadows of glitch, but he???s more reliant on spooky instrumental tonality & murky minimalism.
SIDE A: Sustained ethereal drones, fluttery frequencies, crystalline jingles, fuzzy humming mists & airy granular voids, delayed piano sadness & acoustic guitar echoes.?? Reverse loop vocals filter in subtly too alongside almost evangelical organ.?? It???s more dramatic, gray skies, soft sad beauty.
SIDE B:?? One incredibly bewitching ghost ride into the hereafter.?? Nebulous echoes, tolling tones, slight glitch, percussive hints to deep pounding blows, tube hollows & spiral tunnels.?? It escalates a touch & relaxes numerous times.?? The last cut is the ONLY dark electronic beat & bass dub danceable rhythms.
