Duck, Dennis ??? Dennis Duck Goes Disco A-Library 12??? {Poobah}

Dennis Duck devises deranged ???disco??? via vamped & varible vinyl manipulation.?? LAFMS (Los Angeles Free Music Society) originally released this limited 20 cassette recording of a turntable pushed to extremes circa 1977.?? Dennis Duck???s (Human Hands, The Dream Syndicate) creation is now re-issued on Poobah & describes the methodology used in astonishing detail.?? Most recordings were produced using only a manual phonograph turntable & various children???s records, odds & ends 45???s, instructional LP???s, & more.?? The tiny record player spindle tilted the records to a slight angle.?? The tone arm rose & fell with the slope of the revolving record altering the pitch.?? The anti-skate mechanism was adjusted to move from the innermost groove to the outer edge & vice versa.?? Sliding speed control allowed for real time adjustments between spectrums of 16 to 78 RPM???s.?? 7???s were stacked off center upon 12??? LP???s offering unusual, random, & unpredictable results, skipping about with relatively little human intervention.
