Half Makeshift is a rather elusive & predatory project as the album???s name, Aphotic Leech, implies.?? Aphotic refers to the deep dark ocean zone that is never exposed to sunlight, a breeding area for creepy little nasties & sea specimens among which include predatory marine creatures perhaps say, like some carnivorous blood sucking leech.?? The speaker destroying drone sets the turbid murky tone as Half Makeshift submerges us into said dark waters.?? Somber piano dirge & melodic xylophone establishes a gloomy isolation.?? Subtle scratchiness & booming stormy rumbles indicate something more malevolent is manifesting itself.?? The thunderous low end eventually drones so deep it takes a rather ugly & intensely distorted turn about eleven & a half minutes down.?? Someone or something???s temper is throbbing out disturbing enraged echoes seething down below the surface.?? Occasionally, electronic glitches & resonating percussive blows bleed in before the harshness completely subsides around the 30 minute mark.?? It???s dreary but stinging & resentful.??????
